Film is Not Dead

I have shot film off and on for 18 years (I cringe at how old that makes me sound), and I was a super late adopter of the DSLR, but digital photography ultimately spoiled me and facilitated my shift from photography as a hobby to photography as a career. But little by little I have found my way back to shooting film, and with it, I have made the shift back from photography as my job, to photography as my passion. I recently returned from Jonathan Canlas's epic three day workshop, Film is Not Dead. It's a testament to Jonathan's generosity that for his own birthday he gave away coveted spots in his workshops, and I happened to win one. And it happened to be in Mexico. Dream = true.

It took place in a haunted, impossibly dreamy hacienda outside San Miguel de Allende, but more than the place, FIND is about the people. Not just Jonathan and his wealth of knowledge, talent, and openness, and not just my fellow attendees who were equally talented and funny and open, but FIND is a much larger community of film photography misfits I'm grateful to be a part of. I posted my personal work from day three of the workshop yesterday, but here are some of my favorites from the first two days of shooting.
