Lauren + Josh. California Engagement Session.

And now for something completely different... When I was in California recently I met up with Lauren and Josh in Mill Valley and we shot a couple rolls of film. I shot film for 11 of the 15 years that I have been into photography, and yet those last four years of shooting digital have just about ruined me for film shooting. While I have always loved the look and feel of film, I have been downright spoiled by the instant gratification of digital. But I miss it and I have been longing to start shooting with it again. Unfortunately it's completely impractical to be a film shooter in Tamarindo when the nearest photo lab is five hours away, so when I planned to meet up with Lauren and Josh in the States, it seemed like a good time to play around with it. Of course in my head I was picturing that gorgeous golden California sun, but the weather clearly had other plans. And it was cold. And, this being my first time shooting film since 2006, I had some technical issues. But in the end, there is still something so authentic about these images.
